Taking part in therapeutic sessions alongside horses is a truly transformational experience. Therapy with horses is a relatively new approach which is proving itself as highly beneficial in dealing with PTSD, ASD, and general self-confidence.

Through interaction with the horses in these sessions you will learn to:

  • Improve your relationships with others

  • Learn to recognise how body language can affect communication

  • Learn self acceptance and trust

  • Learn to manage your emotional energy

What happens in the sessions?
Do I need riding experience?

There is no riding involved and you do not need to have any prior experience with horses.

Individual sessions with the horses are an hour in duration and tailored to your specific needs and experience. Often the horse will sense what is needed and these sessions are very much about spending time with the horse and allowing yourself to be present in the moment and seeing what comes up.  Activities with the horses can include: Meet the herd, grooming, open space work and task based activities.

What if I'm scared of horses?

Whatever your level of horse knowledge you will be given a thorough safety briefing before being introduced to your equine friend and will be supervised at all times.
